Nevada GOP Caucus Official, Its February 7, 2008 - and the Democrats Still Fighting Over Fox News Televising the August 14, 2007 Debate
Its official. Thursday, February 7, 2008, the GOP will hold their Nevada Presidental Caucus. We had reported earlier that this was a done deal. Watching the state Republican machinery work, its a well oiled machine compared to the Nevada Democrats who are still arguing about the televised Democratic presidental candidates debate on August 14, 2007 in Reno. Progressive party activists want to keep the debate off America's most watched news network, Fox News. John Edwards has already said he would not show up. Bill Richardson will be there, the other candidates have not decided yet. A comprimise of sorts has been devised, but its not going to satisfy the outraged progressives - they want Fox News out of the debate, period. But Blue Lyon is totally disgusted with MoveOn.org attacking the state democratic party. So is Coyote Angry. Most local party officials support the Fox debate. As we said earlier, we will be joining the protestors at the debate. Its not that we are against the debate being televised on Fox News, we just think the protestors may be the most interesting people there. Will Rogers got it right in 1931 - "I belong to no organized party, I am a Democrat." He also said, "You've got to be an optimist to be a Democrat, and you've got to be a humorist to stay one."
