Mitt Ahead Big in Iowa and New Hampshire But Has No Hope of Winning Nevada or New York or the Republican Nomination With His Pro-Life Position

Why Mitt Romney has no chance of winning Nevada or New York:

The abortion debate is old and tired and upsets people. We settled it here in Nevada years ago with two votes of the people to make our state constitution pro-choice. Now Mitt shows us he is against states rights by supporting a federal constitutional amendment to overturn our state constitution. Our advice to Mitt - even though Nevada comes after Iowa don't campaign out here. It would be a waste of time with your pro-life position. This state will go for Mayor Giuliani big time. Whats the purpose of winning Iowa and New Hampshire when you lose the Northwest, California, New York and the nomination. What a tragedy because Mitt Romney is the best qualified candidate in the race. He has run businesses and a large state. He is still young enough and has the energy to do the job. He doesn't drink or suffer from a drug addled brain.

What would be a better strategy on abortion?
Mitt should say he is personally pro life but that abortion is a decision that should be left to the states. Supporting states rights will lose him a lot less votes than trying to push his individual moral views on the rest of the country. Plus the people don't want another debate about abortion. I could list ten other issues which are more pressing. Its too bad too, Mitt Romney would of made a good President. I am afraid his support of a pro-life constitutional amendment will deny him not only the Presidency, but most likely the Republican nomination.

What is really tragic about this:
People may get the idea Mitt is shoving his religion down our throats and that is very unfair to him. His stand on abortion is going to bring another unwelcome issue into the campaign - Mitt's Mormonism. That should not even be an issue. But Mitt will make it one. Bummer! Some of the more bigoted evangelicals he is catering too with his abortion stand don't even believe Mormons are Christians. We all have read the literature by some narrow minded Christians, that Mormonism is a cult. They would not vote for Mitt no matter what his position on abortion was. Why throw pearls to swine?

Like Father, Like Son:
I am old enough to remember George Romney's comment that he was brainwashed on Viet Nam. Mitt's position on abortion is going to be his downfall just as his fathers comment on brainwashing was. We in Nevada already went thru two divisive elections on abortion, now Mitt wants to drag us thru this again. I don't think so. Mitt was effectively pro choice. Now he backs the platform of the Republican party to override what the voters of Nevada have decided. We are pro-choice here. Does Mitt want a civil war? What happened to states rights? He is probably the most qualified candidate in the election. Ann Romney would of made a terrific first lady. I was even thinking of changing from a democrat to republican to vote for Mitt in the January 19 caucus. But why bother now. What a waste. Mitt could of been a contender.

Mitt Practices Religious Bigotry and He Does Not Even Know It:
Mitt made a comment about the Salafis in the Middle East. He has not been the only one lately to use that word instead of terrorist, as if they are one in the same. There are a lot of Salafi Muslims in the UAE - United Arab Emirates and they have had no terrorist attacks. Salafi and terrorism are not interchangeable words. We have a whole section here on Muslim links. Go to PalTalk and sign on the room Islam Answers Back and talk to some real Salafi Muslims. None of them are terrorists.

Mitt Speaks Fluent French:
Look what the French have done with nuclear power. We need the same thing here. Remember WHOOPS, when Washington state decided to fast track the construction of nuclear plants. They were building the plants before they even had them fully designed. Of course they lost billions of dollars and the cost of power skyrocketed in the Pacific Northwest. The French have the same plants everywhere. They know how to use nuclear power safely and efficiently. Mitt as president could be over there getting that technology for us. What a shame he won't get that chance.

What Mitt Can Do to Save the Situation:
Support state rights Mitt. No one has to run on the party platform. Who reads the party platform to begin with? Be pro-life by all means, but a pro-life constitutional amendment has no chance of passage. We got bigger problems to deal with. If you change your mind on this, I promise I will become a Republican and support you. I will even give you money. Mitt Romney should be more than a footnote in Presidential history. Supporting a federal pro-life constitutional amendment is a doomed strategy! His train to the White House will derail after New Hampshire if he stays the present course.
