Breaking News - Condoleezza Rice to Become the First Woman Vice President of the United States - Vice President Cheney to Resign For Health Reasons

According to our sources in the Republican party, the recent news of Vice President Dick Cheney's health problems is cover for him to resign gracefully and to be replaced in that job by the current Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice. Dick Cheney has become a "lightning rod" for the President. President Bush is worried about his legacy. We think Condi Rice is a good choice for him as the new vice president, he seems comfortable working with her, and she has not nearly the baggage Cheney has.

The Constitution of the United States, Amendment 25, ratifed on February 10, 1967 applies: "Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress." Our sources tell us Condi Rice will have no problem being confirmed as the next vice president of the United States.

"More than an unsubstantiated rumor", this will be the process:
Vice President Dick Cheney to resign for health reasons.
President Bush nominates Condoleezza Rice to become our next vice president.
The House of Representatives and the Senate confirm Condi by a majority vote.
America has its first woman and black vice president.

Look to see this process unfold fairly rapidly. The President will be leaving tommorrow for a six day trip to Latin America. Nothing will happen till he returns. We want to congratulate the next and 47th vice president of the United States - Good luck Condi!

Bloggers, Hypocrites and the President Takes Health Care Dollars to Latin America While Our Veterans Are In Dire Need

Can you believe 175,000 new blogs are started every day according to Technorati. There are over 200 million dead and abandoned blogs. The problem seems that there are more blogs than readers.

Global warming may be in our future. Earth over the millenia has had cold years and warm years. A two degree increase in the average temperature is much more beneficial that a two degree drop. The sun has alot to do with how cold or warm our planet gets. The sun is a living organism which heats up and cools down in cycles. God help us if it sends out a powerful burst of energy in our direction. This is also known as the "kill shot", and if it happens you want to be deep underground.

Al Gore, who we voted for, and wish had become our 43rd president, is reported to pay $30,000 a year on energy for his suburban Nashville home and burned 221,0000 kilowatt hours last year, or twenty times the national average. Meanwhile, the producer of an "An Inconvenient Truth" who has denounced SUVs - still flys in private Gulfstream jets. Aren't you tired of the hypocrisy?

President Bush is bound for Latin America with an aid package to teach English and boost health care for Latin Americans. We wish you would stay here Mr. President and fix the problems with health care for our worthy veterans. Reports are coming in now about other problems in other hospitals, just not Walter Reed. A soldier with a head wound was told it wasn't his severe head wound that was the problem, but that he was retarded. The President has been reported to go to bed at 9 pm every night. But it would be nice if he could stay up an extra hour or two and devote that time to solving the appalling conditions our wounded veterans are up against. The President has asked the Defense Department to do a bipartisan inquiry of the problems at Walter Reed and the other hospitals. But military families have been complaining for years, and their concerns have been arrogantly dismissed. The American people are rightfully outraged.

We remember another Republican president, who was in office during an unpopular war in the early seventies. One weekend the White House was besieged by hundreds of thousands of protestors, camping and burning fires around the White House grounds. President Nixon, who stayed up late and seemed much more engaged than our current president (except during the darkest days of Watergate) decided to visit the protestors. In the wee hours of the morning, with his valet behind the wheel, President Nixon snuck out of the White House and drove over to the Lincoln Memorial to visit some of the anti-war protestors. Needless to say, the young people were in shock to be talking to the President of the United States. The parlay ended when carloads of Secret Service showed up to retrieve the missing president. We wish President Bush was as engaged as Nixon was. President Bush, we beg you....step up to the plate. Deliver decent heath care to our veterans, please. They deserve no less.

Rudy Giuliani Visit to Reno, Saturday, March 10, Is Strictly a Private Fund Raising Event

After talking to someone connected with the Rudy Giuliani visit to Reno (thanks to Senator Bill Raggio's office for the contact information) this Saturday, March 10, we have been told there will be no press conference. Its strictly a private fund raising event. To win the presidency, the winning candidate is going to have to raise at least $100 million dollars. Its too bad, but money is everything in this campaign.

If you got the bucks, you still can see Mr. Giuliani. For only $1,000 you can attend the reception. For another $2,500 you can get your picture taken with the candidate. Just call 827-1900 for ticket information or go to the Washoe County Republican website page for more information. They want you to RSVP by March 8.

If you don't have $1,000, only forty-five bucks will get you into the Washoe County Democratic Party crab feed in Reno that same night. Doors open at 6:00 for a pre-dinner mixer. There will be a no host bar, which means you have to buy your own wine. Dinner will be at 7:00. The event will be held at the California Building at Idelwild Park in Reno. Its to bad that money did not go into medical care for our troops. The President is going to form a committee to investigate the appalling conditions at Walter Reed Hospital. Makes you think, what would Republican Teddy Roosevelt have done? He wouldn't be forming any committee - he would be driving accross town to Walter Reed himself to get things squared away. Its critical that the next president, Republican or Democrat, is up to the job. We have a chance to vet out the next president here in Nevada, lets not blow it. God bless our troops.

Welcome Aboard Republicans!

Just as the Nevada Caucus express is ready to leave the station in Nevada, several new cars have been attached to the train. Its no longer the Democratic Express - its the Peoples Express, and its headed all the way to the White House. Its all but a done deal. Nevada will be holding a Republican Presidental Caucus on Thursday, Februay 7, 2008. Thats great for Nevadans! Its time to take off the dirty Che Guevarra tee shirt and put on casual business attire. We don't want to make the Republicans in the dining car uncomfortable. Democrats better quit bickering amongst themselves and worry about what the Republicans are doing. Welcome Aboard GOP!

Spotlight on Rural Nevada and Our Favorite Blogger and the Fox Debate Flap

A new blog has popped up. Its the Rural Nevada Democratic Caucus Blog. Its been around since February 18. They have been posting interesting articles about the health care our soldiers are getting, oil and state politics. We are finding their stuff an interesting read. They seem to be focusing on the important issues. There is a website too that is good named the Rural Nevada Democratic Caucus. Other rural bloggers of note are Coyote Angry and Nye--Gateway to Nevada's Rurals.

Our favorite blooger overall, rural and otherwise, has to be Dullard Mush. The Anon Guy's interviews with Assemblyman Sheila Leslie and Washoe County Democratic Party Chairman Chris Wicker on the Fox News debate flap are very insightful. We agree with him that the Fox debate should go on. There is also a good interview with Jill Derby over at Turn Tahoe Blue. She seems to agree with Chris Wicker. Chairman Wicker said:

"Instead of worrying about an opportunity for FOX, we can look at it as an opportunity for Democrats. The decision has been made and there are legitimate positions on both sides. The worst result would be if we cancelled the deal, I don't think I need to elaborate on the coverage that would have."

We couldn't agree more Chris.

But we should have full disclosure of the deal with Fox though. The state party chairman has released a statement regarding the Fox debate. Maybe an additional statement with more details (full disclosure) would be helpful as this controversy does not seem to be going away. Thanks.
